PURPOSE: A method for setting up a channel for a wireless FAX data transmission path is provided to increase the utilization efficiency of radio channels by allocating a high bit rate channel to a path through which a terminal transmits a data signal and a low bit rate channel to a path through which the terminal receives a control signal. CONSTITUTION: A radio communication system judges whether a connected FAX terminal tries to execute FAX data communication with the other FAX terminal(S10). In case that it is judged that the connected FAX terminal tries to execute FAX data communication with the other FAX terminal, the system sets up a relevant path so that it can be operated in a half duplex FAX communication method(S20). Then the system puts the bit rates of transmitting/receiving channels in a pre-setting state(S30). The system judges whether a FAX data signal is transmitted from the connected FAX terminal(S40). If it is judged that a FAX data signal is transmitted from the connected FAX terminal, the system sets a relevant pre-set channel as a normal channel(S50) and transmits the FAX data signal to the other FAX terminal(S60).
