PLASMA DISPLAY DEVICE, ESPECIALLY FACILITATING THE STABLE DRIVING FOR VARIOUS LOAD FACTORS IN DISPLAYING IMAGES

PURPOSE: A plasma display device capable of improving luminescence efficiency is provided to improve luminescence efficiency by using a sustain pulse voltage comprised of two voltages having a different waveform. CONSTITUTION: A driving circuit(98a) is comprised of an X-electrode terminal(92), a Y electrode terminal(93), an A-electrode terminal(94), an X-driving circuit(95a), a Y driving circuit(96a), and an A-driving circuit(97a). The X, Y, and A-electrode terminals function as connectors with respect to an electrode group in a panel(91). The X, Y, and A driving circuits drive the X, Y, and A-electrode terminals, respectively. A load factor detector(3) detects a load factor of one frame of a picture to be displayed from an image signal of an image source(99). A load factor compensator(4) classifies a sustain waveform, the number of sustain pulses, and sub-fields based on the load factor detected. The image source provides an image signal of a picture to be displayed.
