PURPOSE: Provided is a slot machine having an improved function and structure to reduce heat generation and operating cost, and at the same time to minimize game interruption caused by outside circumstances such as a machine inspection. CONSTITUTION: The slot machine includes a game unit(2), a main controller(3), a main memory(4), and a display(5). The game unit(2) includes a start checker(23) and a driving part(27). The display(5) includes an image display optical part(11) with a projector(31), a display controller(12), an image data memory(16), a RAM(13), a display sequence data memory(14), and a VRAM(15). The projector(31) includes a light source, a light transformer for transforming the light from the light source into parallel beams, and a light modulation element for modulating the parallel beams.
