PURPOSE: A DC/DC converter is provided to obtain the desired output set voltage at a load side output, even when the difference between the power supply voltage and the output set voltage of the load side output is large. CONSTITUTION: A DC/DC converter(1) comprises a switching element(14), an error amplifier(11), an oscillator(13), a slope circuit(12), a comparator(10), and a logic circuit(9). The switching element supplies power from a power source side to a load side through open/shut operation, and maintains the load side at an output set voltage. The error amplifier is arranged to amplify errors between the voltage from the load side and an error comparison reference voltage, and output an output voltage. The oscillator outputs an oscillation clock. The slope circuit synchronizes with the oscillation clock, and outputs a sawtooth waveform voltage having a slope starting before the trailing edge of the oscillation clock. The comparator compares the sawtooth waveform voltage of the slope circuit with the output voltage of the error amplifier. The logic circuit is arranged by the trailing edge of the oscillation clock, and reset by the signal output from the comparator. The switching element opens and shuts in accordance with the output pulse signal of the logic circuit.
