Injection molding machine, comprises vertically movable closure unit, plate shaped upper and lower yokes, at least three vertical bars which connect the yokes, and a movable mould tensioning plate. The tensioning plate is moved along the bars by drive cylinder(s) of small cross section and long stroke, so mould sections can be opened/closed together. An additional short stroke cylinder with a larger cross section can be moved horizontally between the pressure plate (4) and tensioning plate (5), and the piston-cylinder unit (2) is operated by a fluid medium.
