The use of sorbic acid (and/or its salts) (I) and omega -fatty acids (II) is claimed (a) in the production of preparations for the prophylaxis or therapy of coccidial infections in useful, pet or domestic animals and (b) for improving the performance of useful or domestic animals. Independent claims are also included for: (1) the (I)- and (II)-containing preparations for use as above; and (2) the production of the preparations, by mixing the starting components in solid and/or liquid form, optionally with addition of further auxiliaries, active agents or additives.
