The mechanism comprises a nail magazine (10), a nail displacement device (20) movable along rails (121) in the magazine, a U-shaped nail setting profile (30) located between the inside wall of the magazine and the displacement device and two spring fittings (40) which are located between the setting profile and central body (12) of the magazine body (12) and secured to this body. The magazine comprises an upper nail guide plate (11) and a central body with a U-shaped cross-section and with a cross-slit (14) in its top and bottom regions for locating a positioning bolt (141) with a nut (142) screwed onto it. A groove (15) is located between the cross-slits and the two arms of the central body are each provided with rails. The displacement device comprises a displacement piece (21) subjected to a return force. A guide bracket (22) secured to the front end of the displacement device can be moved in a vertical along the groove in the central body of the magazine via a guide bolt (23) extending through bolt slits (222) in the bracket. The setting profile is supported at its top and bottom ends by the positioning bolts in the magazine, which are passed through positioning holes (31) in the profile.
