Transport installation for feeding paper rolls to roll stands and bobbin carriage

A newspaper print shop assembly receives rolls of newsprint with a heavy cardboard core tube requiring disposal after removal of the paper. The spent tube is released from the printing press onto a U-shaped rail-mounted tilt-cradle assembly and is transported to a disposal point. At the disposal point a cover over a pit is opened by mechanical action and the cardboard core is tilted onto a conveyer belt inside the pit, and removed.
