PURPOSE:To facilitate working of adjusting and dismounting a distributor, by securing an intermediate support plate and a mounting section of the distributor together through a bolt having a notch easily to be broken, which bolt is inserted in an elongate slot for adjustment of ignition timing. CONSTITUTION:In the final adjusting operation in a factory for shipment, a clamping tool is engaged to a groove or the like in an operation end 9 of the special bolt 7 to loosen the bolt 7, the ignition timing is adjusted to be optimum through the elongate slot 4 for adjusting ignition timing, and at the position where optimum ignition timing is achieved the special bolt 7 is clamped. At this time, if a clamping force hot less than a prescribed value is exerted to the bolt 7, the notched part 10 easily to be broken is broken, so that thereafter a damper proof state can be obtained where the bolt 7 would not be clamped. In a case that if it is required to remove the distributor housing 2 from an internal combustion engin body after the shipment, a bolt 12 is loosened, and the intermediate support plate 6 is removed the internal combustion engine body 1. In this case, the distributor housing 2 is removed from the internal combustion engine body 1 with the distributor housing 2 being secured and supported by the intermediate support plate 6. |
