A glass shelf is supported by an L-shaped rod (10) that is attached to the base of an eye-level cupboard. The shelf rests on rubber O-rings (20) each located within a shallow groove (13) in the rod surface. The rod top end terminates in a flange (21) that is screwed to the cupboard base and overhangs (33) at the rear by the protruding thickness of an O-ring (34).
