<p>A fuel injection pump (1) has a CSD (30) that modifies fuel injection timing by opening and closing a sub-port (36a) provided in a barrel. The opening and closing is made by a piston (35) operated by an actuator (38) for angle advancement. The communication and shut-off between the sub-port (36a) and a fuel pressure chamber (17) and between a main port (39) and the fuel pressure chamber (17) are performed by operating a plunger (32). In the fuel injection pump (1) above, at least one overflow-dedicated sub-port (36b) that is normally opened irrespective of the operation of the piston (35) is provided in the barrel. Further, the overflow-dedicated sub-port (36b) is provided between, with respect to the sliding direction of the plunger (32), the main port (39) and the sub-port (36a).</p> |
