BIS (FLUORINE-CONTAINING PHTHALIC ANHYDRIDE) AND METHOD FOR PRODUCTION THEREOF

A bis(fluorine-containing phthalic anhydride), characterized in that it is represented by the following formula (I<1>): wherein, m and n independently represent an integer of 1 to 3, and Z represents a single bond or a divalent organic group, and in that it has a specific surface area of 3.0 m<2>/g or more or it exhibits a molar extinction coefficient at a wavelength of 360 nm of 0.6 L/mol cm or less; a method for producing the bis(fluorine-containing phthalic anhydride); a method for producing a bis(fluorine-containing phthalonitrile) compound which is an intermediate material compound in the above production method; and a polyamide acid and a polyimide produced from said bis(fluorine-containing phthalic anhydride). The above bis(fluorine-containing phthalic anhydride) is reduced in discoloration and superior in solubility, compared to a conventional compound.
