摘要 PURPOSE: A method for composting food leftovers by aerobic fermentation and a system using the method are provided to reduce the composting period, to improve compost quality through a cost effective and simple way by eliminating the use of saw dust or rice hulls, and to minimize bad smells and leachate. CONSTITUTION: The method for composting food leftovers by aerobic fermentation in a fermenter where a ventilation means is provided on the lower part, and a stirring means is provided on the upper part, comprises application of double-blowing, wherein 4000-10000mmAq of air is fed to the upper stream through which food leftovers having relatively high water content are introduced in order to raise the air feeding rate and 1000-4000mmAq of air is fed to the middle or lower stream. The system for composting food leftovers comprises: (A) a fermenter(1) for aerobic fermentation; (B) main airlines(24,25) positioned adjacent to the upper stream through which food leftovers are introduced and positioned adjacent to the down stream; pluralities of branched airlines(24a,25a); and a first ventilation means for providing 4000-10000mmAq of air, which communicates with the airlines; (C) main airlines positioned on the middle stream area; pluralities of branched airlines; and a second ventilation means for providing 1000-4000mmAq of air, which communicates with the airlines.
