PURPOSE:To provide an energy saving bath tub which is capable of recovering efficiently exhaust heat of residual hot water by sealing a heat transfer medium in the state of gas and liquid mixture in a tightly sealed air space and immersing a heat exchanger in a liquid heat transfer medium. CONSTITUTION:In the heating operation of a bath tub water a liquid state heat transfer medium 23a is heated and evaporates by a high temperature, high pressure coolant which flows in a heat exchanger 24, and the heat transfer medium 23 which is gaseous by evaporation is condensed and liquefied uniformly in the low temperature inner wall 20 of a bath tub which is filled with bath tub water to heat it. The liquefied heat transfer medium 23 drops down from the inner wall 20 of the bath tub and returns to the liquid heat transfer medium 23a section at the lower section of the sealed space 22. This cycle is repeated and heat is transferred to the bath tub water. In residual hot water exhaust heat recovery operation, the liquid heat transfer medium 23a is led to a flow-down pipe 25 by operating a pump 28 and then the liquid medium 23a is blown out from a flow-out opening 26 and made to flow down on the wall surface from the upper section of the inner wall 20 of the bath tub and absorbs the heat of the residual hot water through the inner wall of the bath tub. The liquid heat transfer medium the temperature of which has been raised falls down, giving its heat to the low temperature and low pressure coolant flowing in the heat exchanger 24 to heat the supply hot water in a hot water storage tank 4. |
