FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines. ^ SUBSTANCE: proposed gas exchange valve system for internal combustion engines, particularly, for two-stroke diesel engines of large power output, contains fixed valve seat and part of valve movable relative to seat with valve disk made to provide sealing contact with valve seat. Ring round narrow sealing surfaces are provided in zone of at least one of opposite conical surfaces of valve seat and valve disk. Said surfaces are limited at least at one side by ring round recess in material, and are made in form of ground surfaces with sharp side edges. Total width of all narrow sealing surfaces of one part of gas exchange valve system is from 0.5% to 2% of mean diameter of corresponding conical surface. ^ EFFECT: increased service life of engines. ^ 10 cl, 2 dwg
