FIELD: chemical industry. ^ SUBSTANCE: the invention is pertinent to production an edge band for the cathodes used at electrolytic cleaning of metals. Substance: the edge band determines a passing in the longitudinal direction channel for location of a cathodic plate. In an edge band also there is place for location of a supporting member or a leg, coupled with the additional recess formed in the lower end corners of a cathodic plate. The supporting member or the leg may fulfill two functions. First, the supporting member has a section of a rod shoulder, fitted for abutment joint of an additional surface of the cathodic plate and so for supporting of the cathodic plate on the edge band. Alternatively or additionally the section of the lower edge, that is hidden inside the edge band, is located at a distance from the open lower edge of the plate. The invention ensures decrease of deposition of a metal on the hidden part of the lower edge. ^ EFFECT: invention ensures decrease of deposition of a metal on the hidden part of the lower edge. ^ 11 cl, 8 dwg
