摘要 PURPOSE: A peak and bottom detector in a burst mode optical receiver is provided to reduce a response time by adjusting a current supplied to a peak hold capacitor automatically. CONSTITUTION: A peak and bottom detector in a burst mode optical receiver includes an amplifying stage(210), a BJT transistor(220), a peak hold capacitor(230), a signal magnitude detector(240), and a current source(250). The amplifying stage is configured to feed back an output of the peak and bottom detector to reduce an offset of a peak value of a received burst signal. The BJT transistor serves as a diode which is turned on when a positive signal is applied from the amplifying stage. The peak hold capacitor charges a peak value when the BJT transistor is turned on. The signal magnitude detector generates monitors a magnitude of the received burst signal and generates a control voltage corresponding to the monitored magnitude. The current source drives a current according to an output of the signal magnitude detector.
