The device has a calculation unit that determines average offset difference between an estimated absolute angular position and the sampled angular position, at each instant. The calculation unit determines absolute angular position by adding the difference and the sampled angular position. The calculation unit determines the estimation of the absolute angular position according to the differential speed. An independent claim is also included for an angular position determining method.
