CONDUCTIVE MEMBER, METHOD OF MANUFACTURING CONDUCTIVE MEMBER AND PROCESS CARTRIDGE USING CONDUCTIVE MEMBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conductive member in which electrification failure due to a fault in a covering layer surface does not occur even when an electrifying process is carried out on a body to be electrified by applying only AC voltage to the electrifying member, and to provide a process cartridge using it.

SOLUTION: In the conductive member provided with a conductive supporting body and a covering layer formed on its outer periphery, the outer circumferential surface of the conductive supporting body is coated by applying a liquid containing more than two components of solvents with different boiling points from each other. The covering layer is formed on the outer circumferential surface of the conductive supporting body by carrying out drying in a temperature range which extends from the temperature that is 40°C lower than the boiling point of the solvent contained 60 mass % to 95 mass % to the temperature that is lower than the boiling point of a solvent containing 60 mass % to 95 mass % of the total weight quantity of the solvents. Next, drying is carried out above the boiling point of the solvent having the highest boiling point among the solvents containing 5 mass % to 40 mass % of the total weight quantity of the solvents.
