PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guiding device with a damping unit eliminating the need for providing a damping device separately from the guiding device to damp linear motion energy of a slider of the guiding device, damping the energy after converting the linear motion energy of the slider into rotary motion energy, and easily adjusting damping force with a compact body and at low cost. SOLUTION: The guiding device comprises: a track rail fixed on a base; a slider reciprocable on the track rail; a fixed shaft fixed to the slider and intersecting with a movement direction of the slider; an outer cylinder rotatably supported with respect to the fixed shaft, forming a working chamber between the outer cylinder and the fixed shaft, and rotatable along with the reciprocating motion of the slider while brought into contact with an upper face of the track rail; a housing chamber formed to the slider to house the fixed shaft and the outer cylinder; and viscous fluid sealed in the working chamber.
