PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extract hot water at the set temperature by preventing drop in temperature of the hot water even when the cold water is supplied into a water heater vessel. SOLUTION: The electric water heater has a water storage tank 11 for housing water 2, a boiling vessel 1 for housing and heating the water 2 supplied from the water storage tank 11, a cup shaped isolation member 29 which divides the inside of the boiling vessel 1 into upper and lower housing parts 1a and 1b, a heating means 3 for heating the water 2 in the boiling vessel 1, a water supply path 17 which communicates with the upper housing part 1a to feed the water 2 in the water storage tank 11 to the boiling vessel 1 and a guide path 5 which communicates with the lower housing part 1b to draw the water 2 in the boiling vessel 1 to the outside of the vessel. The heating means 3 heats the lower housing part 1b. Thus, even when the cold water is supplied to the boiling vessel 1, the drop in temperature of the hot water is prevented so that the hot water at the set temperature can be extracted.
