PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a washing machine from washing clothes with a mobile communications terminal left in the clothes. SOLUTION: When a user operates a button to start washing on an operational part, or time for starting washing set by a timer comes while the clothes 7 with the mobile communications terminal 8 left in a pocket is put in a water tub 3, an instruction to start washing is displayed. The CPU of a computer 6 requests a land line 2 to call a telephone number of the mobile communications terminal 8 registered in advance. The mobile communications terminal 8 transmits prescribed signal waves, responding to the call, sounds a warning by an warning means, and gives a warning by a warning message. When a sensor 9 in the water tub 3 detects the signal waves, the CPU prohibits the washing machine from filling the water tub 3 with water from a filling port 4, and gives the warning sound and the warning message. When the user removes the mobile communications terminal from the water tub and clears the warning, the sensor 9 detects any signal waves in the washing tub 3 again.
