PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of taking a moving picture using a high-pixel solid state imaging device. SOLUTION: A temperature detector 5 detects an ambient temperature around a solid state imaging device 1, and informs a gain controller 6 of the detected temperature. The gain controller 6 refers to an LUT 6a to check the offset value and the gain value of a picture signal at the informed temperature and controls the operation of a digital gain calculator 4 based on the checked offset value and the gain value.
