A cable device (2) reduced in size and increased in operability by storing a cable therein when unused for use to connect electronic equipment (a PC (112), a portable terminal (113)), comprising a casing (10) for storing the cable (4) having connector parts (6, 8) connected to the electronic equipment, a winding mechanism (18) for storably winding the cable into the casing, and an operating part (winding knob (22)) to add a rotating force to the winding mechanism for winding the cable by the winding mechanism, wherein the operating part is formed so as to be pulled up from the casing when operated to wind the cable by the winding mechanism and pulled down to the casing when unused.
