PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rise and fall type candlestick in which a windbreak cover is fixed and a candle saucer portion is supported in free rise and fall, and which is easy to be ignited and safe with no danger of fire. SOLUTION: In the rise and fall type candlestick, a windbreak cover 7 of which the upper part is open and which is formed by a transparent cylindrical body is provided on a base portion 6, and a slit 11 is formed on the side wall of the windbreak cover 7 in the vertical direction, and a movable rod 15 is provided in the horizontal direction at the candle saucer portion 12, and an inner circumference side pressure plate 16 and an outer circumference side pressure plate 17 are fitted here. Furthermore, a stopper 22 is fitted here through a blade spring 21 and the movable rod 15 is penetrated into the slit 11 so that the candle saucer portion 12 and the inner circumference side pressure plate 16 may be arranged inside the windbreak cover 7 and the outer circumference side pressure plate 17 and the stopper 22 may be arranged outside the windbreak cover 7. Then, by elastically contacting the stopper 22 with the outside face near the slit 11, the sidewall near the slit 11 is clipped between the inner circumference side pressure plate 16 and the outer circumference side pressure plate 17 from both sides.
