PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable information terminal device for commanding a video server device to edit video data, the video server device for editing the video data on the basis of editing information transmitted from the portable information terminal device, and an editing system in which high quality edition can be performed by the portable information terminal device. SOLUTION: This portable information terminal device has a recording medium interface for reading video data compressively recorded on a recording medium by the video server device and recording edition information for editing the video data in the video server device on the recording medium, a displaying part for displaying the read video data, and a video data edition managing part for generating and managing the edition information.
