PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a catalyst for producing corresponding unsaturated aldehydes and unsaturated carboxylic acids from propylene, isobutylene, t-butanol and/or methyl-t-butyl ether with a high yield, having a long catalyst lifetime and permitting stable operation over a long period even in high-load operation and for high productivity, a method for preparing the catalyst and a method for manufacturing unsaturated aldehydes and unsaturated carboxylic acids using the catalyst.

SOLUTION: The catalyst is obtained by mixing parts of raw compounds together, drying and sintering the mixture to form a primarily completed catalyst, mixing the resultant catalyst with the remainder of the raw materials, and drying and sintering to obtain the target catalyst.
