<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cryopreservation method suitable for monocyte established cell and to provide a culture medium utilized for the method. <P>SOLUTION: The method for carrying out cryopreservation of a monocyte established cell comprises (1) a step of preparing a dispersion by dispersing the monocyte established cell into a culture medium containing monosaccharide and blood serum and (2) a step of freezing the dispersion and preserving the dispersion under liquid nitrogen. It is preferable that the monosaccharide is glucose and the blood serum is a bovine fetal serum.
