PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to separate periphyton such as mussel or barnacle, which is waste discharged from power stations, into shell-meat extract, shell-meat decomposition product and shell.

SOLUTION: An apparatus for separating and extracting shell-meat extract, shell-meat and shell, comprises: a colander-shaped container 1 for storing shells discharged from cooling-water passage or the like; a cracking-machine 2 for cracking shells; an extract extraction pot 3 for extracting shell extract; a decomposition product extraction pot 4 for dissolving shell-meat with enzyme or the like; a heater 5 for heating a warm water within the extract extraction pot and the decomposition product extraction pot; a filter for removing solid material from the extract; a shell storage tank 8 for storing shells from which shell-meats have been removed; and a concentrator for reducing the volume of both the extract and the decomposition product.
