PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a both-side telecentric optical system in which image face characteristics are excellent and a peripheral brightness ratio is substantially constant. SOLUTION: The both-side telecentric optical system is substantially telecentric on both sides of an object side and an image side, is symmetrical concerning a throttle ST, and a face nearest to the throttle ST is a convex face. It comprises a first positive group Gr1a, a second negative group Gr2a, and a third positive group Gr3a in order from the object side from an object face to the throttle ST.
