PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slit structure of a dash insulator for an automobile which maintains sound insulation performance of the dash insulator and simplifies the wiring work for wire members of an electric harness etc. SOLUTION: A through hole 20 is provided on the dash insulator formed by laminating a sound absorbing material 10 and a surface material 12. In an area extending from the through hole toward an end 2a of the insulator 2, the sound absorbing material and the surface material are only laminated without being bonded to each other. A surface material slit 22 extending linearly form the through hole to the end is provided on the surface material in the area without being bonded to the sound absorbing material. Also, a sound absorbing material slit 24 extending linearly form the through hole to the end is provided on the sound absorbing material in the area without being bonded to the surface material.
