Support films for medical plasters comprise 5-90 wt% of a non-fibrous carbohydrate (I) and 10-95 wt% of a copolymer (II) comprising 50-95 wt% ethylene and 5-50 wt% of an 0-contg comonomer (III). USE/ADVANTAGE - The films are useful as backing layers in wound dressings and transdermal patches. The films have good water vapour permeability and good adhesion to conventional adhesives, allowing the plasters to be removed without leaving adhesive residues on the skin.
