<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a practical, low-cost and highly secured settlement processing system by means of a terminal dedicated to settlement with established security and an information terminal. <P>SOLUTION: The terminal dedicated to settlement and the information terminal are connected. Communication with an information processing center for settlement is conducted through the information terminal. Card data input and personal identification number input are done from the terminal dedicated to settlement, confidential information necessary for settlement is held only in the terminal dedicated to settlement which encrypts a piece of data requiring encryption in communication data for communicating with the information processing center for settlement, and the information terminal transmits the piece of data submitted to the encryption processing to the information processing center for settlement without change. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
