FITMENT FOR A FLEXIBLE POUCH WITH CHILD-SAFETY PROPERTIES

A plastic fitment with child-safe properties for attachment to a container component of film-like plastic material, includes a tubular body portion (2) defining a through passage (3) having axially spaced ends. A plurality of welding ribs (7) is formed integrally on the outer periphery of the body portion (2) near one axial end (4) of the through passage (3). Furthermore, a cap member (6) is integrally formed on the body portion (2) near the other axial end, said cap member (6) sealing the through passage (3) at one end. The cap member (6) is attached to the body portion (2) through a weakened portion (10). Radially outwardly projecting, wing-like blades (14, 15) are formed on the cap member (6) at diametrically opposite positions thereof. The cap member (6) can be placed on the body portion (2) for repeatedly sealing the through passage (3) after it has been separated from the body portion. The cap member (6) permanently attached in one-piece manner to the body portion (2) through a meandering strap (24). This invention also relates to flexible pouches and beverage packages incorporating said fitment.
