PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber cable permitting to easily take out an optical fiber only from a desired slot. SOLUTION: In an optical fiber cable 10 wrapped with a overwrap tape 30 around the external perimeter of a slotted rod 12 and provided with a sheath 14 on the outside of the overwrap tape 30, the overwrap tape 30 is provided with a break introduction part 32. Thus, when removing the sheath 14 and taking out the optical fibers 20 held in the slots 13, the overwrap tape 30 wrapped around the slotted rod 12 is broken from the break introduction part 32, therefore, the optical fibers 20 can be easily taken out. Then, since the overwrap tape 30 is broken along a slot 13 without completely removing the overwrap tape 30, the optical fibers 20 can be easily taken out. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
