PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize at a low cost an ALIS-system PDP device, where irregularities in luminance caused by ringing are reduced. SOLUTION: In the ALIS-system PDP device, X and Y electrodes, where a path length, with each length of the signal path of maintenance discharge pulses starting from first (X) and second (Y) electrodes X, Y to sustain drive circuits 13, 14, 17, 18, is longer or shorter than the path length of the peripheral X and Y electrodes, are set so as not to exist concentrically.
