<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antioxidant suppressing oxidative disturbances in a living body caused by activated oxygen or a free radical, not only damaging the flavor and nutritious values of a food and causing the deterioration of its quality, but also giving bad effects in the living body such as diseases, aging, etc., and a beverage or food blended with the antioxidant. <P>SOLUTION: This antioxidant is provided by finding that the water soluble peptide fraction of a cheese has an anti-oxidation effect and it exhibits the effect in a low dose.
