PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display patterns never failing to exhibit individuality even in each reel single body and, when stopping the plurality of reels at specific positions, form a single image in all by integrating all the reels. SOLUTION: This reel unit for use in the game machine is aligned with the plurality of reels displaying a plurality of types of patterns, is rotated by receiving a rotation start command, stops by receiving a rotation stop command for every reel and, when stopping the respective reels, displays a combination of patterns on the respective reels. Each reel displays a single background image continuing in the pattern disposition direction of the reel in an area other than the area displaying the pattern and, when the plurality of reels stop at the specific positions, the background images of all the reels are integrated together to form a single background image in all.
