PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper folding device capable of preventing each sheet of paper from corner folding or double folding without requiring any complicated adjusting operation of the operator. SOLUTION: The paper folding device includes the second folding position deciding mechanism 300 which decides the second fold-up position for a sheet of paper sent from the first folding roller 410. The second fold-up position deciding mechanism 300 includes a sheet transport path 100 furnished with an upper guide plate 311, which is equipped with a sheet levitation preventing mechanism 370 formed protruding at the surfaces of a sheet introduction part and a sendout part in such a way as rounded in the direction of a lower guide plate 312 and preventing the sheet to be sent out to the second folding roller from levitating.
