PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical use image recording apparatus employing a method for erasing data corresponding to a state of use of a user. SOLUTION: The medical use image recording apparatus 1 is provided with: a required capacity calculation section 11; an image data erasure section 12; and a deficient capacity decision section 13 or the like in addition to a recording medium 10 for storing image data. The deficient capacity decision section 13 decides whether a free capacity of the recording medium 10 is deficient, and when the deficient capacity decision section 13 decides that the free capacity is deficient, the required capacity calculation section 11 calculates the capacity of the recording medium 10 estimated to be required for storage of the image data on the basis of a history updated at all times with respect to past inspections. The image data erasure section 12 sequentially erases the image data to reserve the free capacity equal to or more than the calculated capacity estimated to be required.
