PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light receiving module for optical communication especially an FC type receptacle type light receiving module having a metallic receptacle main body in which function can be confirmed before attaching a light receiving element holder etc. to the receptacle main body with the result that rejection of all of the receiving module including the receptacle main body is avoided in the case where there is a problem in positioning of a light receiving element etc. SOLUTION: After positioning the X axis and the Y axis of a mold type light receiving element, the light receiving element is bonded to the back side recessed part of a light receiving element holder and leads of the light receiving element are connected to the amplifier circuit of a substrate and an assembly in which three of the light receiving holder, the light receiving element and the substrate are assembled and which has a light receiving function is obtained and after the function is confirmed in this state, the assembly is inserted into the through hole of the receptacle main body from the back side to be attached to the main body.
