PURPOSE:To shorten the inspecting time by dividing all the ultrasonic beams into a plurality of beam areas, selecting both an area for sending the ultrasonic beams and an area different from the area simultaneously, and sending and receiving the ultrasonic beams in each area. CONSTITUTION:57 ultrasonic beams B1-B57 are divided into three areas, namely, B1-B19 in an area 1, B20-B38 in an area 2 and B39-B57 in an area 3. A control circuit 13 sends the beams B1-B19 in the area 1 and receives the beams B39-B57 in the area 3 at the same time. Subsequently, the circuit 13 sends the beams B20-B39 in the area 2 and receives the beams B1-B19 in the area 1 at the same time. Thereafter, transmission of the beams B40-B57 in the area 3 is carried out concurrently when the control circuit 13 receives the beams B20-B39 in the area 2. Scanning by the ultrasonic beams is executed by repeating the above procedures, thereby realizing high-speed scanning. |
