<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording paper which eliminates curling and waviness after being left alone for drying immediately after printing and shows excellent ink drying characteristics, and an ink jet recording method and an ink jet imaging device. <P>SOLUTION: The recording paper contains at least cellulose pulp, a loading material and a thickening agent, and shows an ink penetration depth of 20 to 40 μm when the ink with a surface tension of 25 to 37 mN/m and a viscosity of 1.5 to 4.0 mPa s is injected at a supply ratio of 0.9 mg/cm<SP>2</SP>per unit area. Alternatively, the recording paper contains at least cellulose pulp, a loading material and a thickening agent, 0.5 to 2 g/m<SP>2</SP>in terms of dry mass of which are saturated in the paper.
