The invention relates to a thermoforming installation (1) for producing molded bodies consisting of plastic film (50), such as pots, containers, lids, food packaging or the like, by means of a forming station comprising a two-part form tool (20). Said two-part form tool (20) comprises an upper tool bench (28) which can be fixed in an adjustable manner and comprises an upper tool (30) in which a prestretcher (92) is displaceably mounted, and a displaceable lower tool bench (32) comprising a lower tool (34) with cavities. The displaceable lower tool bench (32) is guided by means of a guiding device (42) and can be displaced back and forth in relation to the upper work bench (28) by means of a drive device. According to the invention, the upper tool bench (28) comprises a first drive device (26) which is associated therewith and is used to arrange the upper work bench (28) in its position in relation to the upper dead centre of the lower tool bench (32) according to the respective molded body to be produced. The upper work bench (28) also comprises a second drive device (88) which is associated therewith and is used to drive the prestretcher (92) which is displaceably mounted in the upper tool (30). The invention also relates to a method for producing said molded body consisting of plastic film (50).
