FIELD: mechanical engineering, in particular, laser strengthening of threaded surfaces. ^ SUBSTANCE: method involves focusing laser beam by means of lens in the vicinity of surface to be processed and providing mutual displacement of said surface and laser beam, the latter being moved in parallel with axis of surface under process. During processing, inner surface is arranged in front of focal plane of lens and outer surface is arranged behind focal plane of lens. Focal distance of the latter is set equal to ratio of diameter of non-focused beam and angle of taper of surface under process. ^ EFFECT: increased efficiency and enhanced reliability in operation. ^ 2 dwg, 1 ex |
