PURPOSE: A device for opening and closing a swing door of a bus by using a varistor is provided to open and close the swing door conveniently by changing the varistor automatically according to the gradient of the road and varying voltage of the driving motor in opening the swing door on the level ground or the slope. CONSTITUTION: A swing door opening and closing device comprises a swing door(12) opened or closed and installed in a bus, a driving motor(13) applying external force to move the swing door, a varistor(20) increasing torque of the driving motor by transmitting voltage changed according to the inclination angle of the bus to the driving motor, a power unit(30) connected to the varistor to supply power to the driving motor, and a door opening switch(40) installed between the power unit and the varistor to operate the driving motor.
