PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a testing method for evaluating fracture phenomena because the fracture phenomenon occurs in a sleeve when a moisture resistance test is carried out in such a state that a ferrule is inserted into the sleep whose wall thickness is thin. SOLUTION: The breaking strength of the sleeve is measured after being exposed under a prescribed test condition containing water vapor or moisture in such a state that the ferrule 2 is inserted into the sleeve 1 which is used for optical communications.
