DATA RETRIEVAL DEVICE AND METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide data retrieving technology having high retrieving efficiency even in the case of using it for interactive data retrieval. SOLUTION: The data retrieval device 1 for retrieving required data from tree structure data is provided with a source link information storing means 3 for storing link information between respective nodes of the tree structure data and a link setting means 4 for adding new link information to a brother node as to the link information of a terminating node out of the link information of respective nodes stored in the source link information storing means 3. Since transition from the terminating node to the brother node can be directly performed without passing through a parent node, the retrieving efficiency of the tree structure data can be improved.
