PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a correction device which accurately measures rotation accuracy of a rotary table, corrects the rotating operation based on the result of measurement, and to improve accuracy of determination. SOLUTION: A correction device 1 is prepared in a machine tool which is provided with a rotary table, a rotation driving mechanism 86 that determines the rotary table on a prescribed rotational angular position, rotational angle detecting equipment 91 which detects the rotational angular position executed and controlled by the rotation driving mechanism 86, and a control device 95 which creates data related to a target rotational angular position and controls the rotation driving mechanism 86 based on that. The device is provided with a detecting mechanism 2, which is put on the rotary table and detects its rotational angular position, and a compensation part 3 which calculates difference between the rotational angular position detected by the detecting mechanism 2 and the rotational angular position detected by a rotational angle detecting equipment 91, then sets the correction amount in response to that and corrects the target rotational angular position of the rotary table based on the set correction amount.
