PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water heater with improved easiness-of-use while reducing wasteful discharge of water to the minimum till heated hot water is discharged. SOLUTION: This water heater 2 has the evaporation part 8 heating and evaporating the liquid fuel, evaporates the liquid fuel in the evaporation part 8, supplies the fuel to a combustion part 7 for combustion, and heats and delivers the hot water by heat generation of the combustion part 7. The water heater comprises a hot water quantity control means 155 for controlling hot water quantity. The evaporation part 8 has an induction heat generation part generating heat by an electromagnetic induction heating means and comprises an induction heating part temperature detecting means detecting the temperature of the induction heat generation part. When the temperature of the induction heat generation part is at a predetermined set value or lower, the hot water delivery quantity is restricted by the hot water quantity control means 155.
